Scratch that. Turns out my interpretation was correct. They walked back their explanation and now they're saying gauge is bad, and it is required under CAR3 31.655. They'll try to clean it and get it working or I'm F'd and need a new one.

I've had that happen with my arrow's G5, usually during cases where it takes a few tries for a hot-start to catch so I flip the master on/off in between attempts. There's an easier solution for my case though: just hold down the power button for 10 seconds and then it boots up just fine.
