    My tailwheel training impressions..

That's the Citabria spring gear, it's really mushy and difficult to tell when it makes contact so it's not really your fault. The sight picture isn't going to work because not all runways are the same width. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get it and wonder what all the fuss was about.

    My tailwheel training impressions..

I've got an old Citabria (Champion) with the oleo gear. They called it the "no bounce" gear and believe me you can't get that thing to bounce even if you try.

Multi engine time in AirCam aircraft?

So you're applying for a job as an airline pilot and they find out you got your ATP with 50 hours multi in an Aircam with no tailwheel endorsement? Is this a realistic scenario? Something to lay awake at night worrying about?

Upcoming trip, Western US - Where should I go!

Not sure if it's legal to visit South Dakota without stopping at Wall Drug.

    My tailwheel training impressions..

OP said it was a Decathlon which has a different wing. It may have the same angle of incidence but it has a slightly higher stall speed. Not sure why his instructor wants him to learn wheel landings first, in most small GA taildraggers there's never any actual need to do wheel landings other...

    My tailwheel training impressions..

Don't know if there is much to add but the Citabria spring gear is one of the harder ones to get in the beginning. You just can't feel when it touches because it's too soft and it has no damping on the rebound once you've pushed it too far. You'll get it eventually, as said one day it just...

    Transporting an o-300 FWF

If you mount it on a tire (or tires) for any distance make frequent stops and check it, it's going to move around. Last one I did was nose up with mount frame bolted to a simple custom built wooden pallet and everything, including baffles, still in tact with straps from the prop flange securing...

WTF, over? (Video of a bad landing and go around)

He must have been embarrassed because I don't think he did a go around, he just left.

    Damaged crinkled firewall 172H

I have a picture of the J3 Cub I learned to fly in after it got hit by a tornado in 1971. It looked like a wadded up ball of wire and tissue paper yet it is still on the register and flying to this day. Pretty much anything can be fixed, sometimes people start with just a data plate.

Citing Valve Damage, UND Drops Unleaded Fuel And Returns To 100LL

From a scientific perspective they started doing these checks when they switched to UL94 so there is no comparative data for 100LL use. It would appear that they are jumping to conclusions based on a very small number of anomalies.

    Lindberg's Final Landing Spot

That winding road to Hana can start to feel as grueling as a New York to Paris flight by the time you get done with the entire round trip.

    April solar eclipse

It makes you wonder what people, a few thousand years ago, thought when this unexpectedly happened and they had no idea why.

    April solar eclipse

A little bit of last minute advice for anyone who drives to see the eclipse and gets caught in a massive traffic snarl afterwards: If you are using Google Maps it may announce that it has found a faster route. What it won't tell you is that it is 250 miles longer and there are no gas stations on...
