    Help me spend my money!

Not used much doesn't mean they don't want to have it in the plane. With GPS outages, I want backup nav and the ability to shoot the ILS approach and land.

    Savvy MX Maintenance

I have their Analysis and their Breakdown (now included) services. I think both offer good value for the money. Saving one cylinder pays with them.

    My tailwheel training impressions..

With the Citabria/Decathalon spring steel gear I find it is VERY easy to tell when you touch the ground. You know because that is when the plane springs back into the air with no airspeed. :D

Commercial Helicopter Pilot with (Private Privileges) ASEL and Instrument wanting to Add-on Comm MEL

Yes, you need to meet 61.129. Notice that many of the requirements specify part of it must be in an Airplane, so for XC, you only need to do 10 hours in an Airplane and the other 40 hours can be what you already did in a Helicopter. I did it the other way around, Commercial Airplane (both SE...

    Glider add on

    1) Many places to do it. Either close by or during a vacation trip. I did my Commercial at a place where I was flying near me. I did my CFIG while visiting relatives in Hawaii. SO ROUGH. :D 2) If you have a Commercial, do the Commercial-G. The difference is 10 solo flights. Oh darn, you...

Handheld transceiver recommendations? Icom, Yaesu, or Sporty's?

I have both a Yaesu 750 and a Sporty's PJ-2. I am a huge Yaesu fan. All my ham radios are Yaesu. Downsides are complicated and separate headset adapter. I have already misplaced the cover for the headset adapter. GPS is not that usable as there is no database. Sporty's is simple to use...

    How accurate are garmin avionics?

Did you set your altimeter to 29.92 for pressure altitude to set the TAS ring??????

    How accurate are garmin avionics?

Uuh, do mean IAS? TAS is calculated from IAS and temp and pressure altitude. Some steam gauge air speed indicators have a scale that can be set to read TAS, but many forget that you need to set your altimeter to 29.92 to get pressure altitude to set that scale.

    Old enforcement records?

Hmm, you just admitted it on an open Hmm, you just admitted it on an open forum. So, if you have a mishap and it comes up, your insurance can found null and void. If it is that long ago, it is likely to make little impact on your rates. I would report it.

Dead Battery or just a weak pulse...

Many plane batteries are AGM these days, so much less likely than a flooded cell to explode. But that also means you should not use a standard auto type charger on them. Spend the money and get the proper Battery Minder for your battery.

    Paint

If the paint on the upper surfaces are faded and chalky, you might want to try paint correction (buffing) first.

    IFR time

But that does not mean it might not be needed to get a certificate based on equivalency in another country. As was the case for at least one poster.

Etiquette for using a friends plane

If you are feeling that guilty, cover the cost of the annual. And take him out for a nice dinner every so often, Maybe fly to that dinner.
